Music for Thursday night

Thank you, Weezer.  And now here’s Rage Against the Machine with an alternative perspective… “Down Rodeo”!

Interesting contrast:

The truth is I don’t stand a chance
It’s something that you’re born into
And I just don’t belong

No I don’t
I’m just a no class, beat down fool
And I will always be that way
I might as well enjoy my life
And watch the stars play

vis

A ballots dead so a bullet’s what I get
A thousand years they had tha tools
We should be takin’ ’em
Fuck tha G-ride I want the machines that are makin’ em
Our target straight wit a room full of armed pawn to
Off tha kings out tha west side at dawn

Weezer is to Dilbert as R.A.T.M is to This Modern World or perhaps Mr. Fish?    Don’t get me wrong, I laugh at Dilbert.  He’s limitation though is that while he’s great at calling out stupidity many of us have experienced (or at least experienced something similar to) he never does anything about it.   “Wow, that is really stupid.” and an eye roll is as far as it goes.  I enjoy Dilbert and I enjoy that Weezer song but they’re both lite.  In contrast, Tom Tomorrow and Mr. Fish are more in the “Wake the @#$% up and do something!!!” vein.
